The Addams Family – Summer Youth Project 2026

Aaron Dwyer’s first Summer Youth Project took place at the Leatherhead Theatre in 2019 with Fame The Musical. Although plans to make it an annual tradition were halted by Covid, everything happens for a reason. Now based in Northern Ireland, Aaron is excited to bring this incredible opportunity to young performers across the UK and Ireland — with hopes of making it a yearly tradition for many years to come.

About the Project

The Summer Youth Project offers up to 150 young people aged 9–22 the chance to take part in a professional-scale musical theatre production. Over two exciting weeks, participants will rehearse and perform The Addams Family in a professional theatre setting, complete with professional lighting, sound, set design, and costumes — giving every performer the chance to experience the magic of being part of a full-scale musical production.

The project will be led by a professional creative team travelling from London, including a Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, Musicians, and a Technical Crew, ensuring every aspect of the production meets a professional standard. The two weeks culminate in five spectacular performances that promise to give both cast and audiences a true West End-style experience.

What to Expect

   •    Intensive Training: Participants will take part in a fast-paced rehearsal schedule, learning acting, singing, and dancing skills while developing confidence and discipline.
   •    Professional Guidance: The creative team will mentor participants throughout, offering insight into the professional world of theatre.
   •    Production Experience: From stage performance to technical and backstage opportunities, everyone will play an essential part in bringing the show to life.
   •    Teamwork and Friendship: The project offers a unique chance to work with like-minded young people, form lasting friendships, and experience the joy of collaboration.
   •    Performances: The project will conclude with five public performances in a professional theatre.
