Audition Date
Sunday, 19 April
Project Dates
Sunday, 2 August – Saturday, 15 August
Performance Dates
Wednesday, 12 August – Saturday, 15 August (five performances)
You must be available for the full duration of the project. No exceptions.
Rehearsals normally run from 10:00–18:00 each day. During the second week, some days may run longer to prepare for the performances.
This project demands commitment and teamwork. The final production is the result of intensive work from every participant and member of the creative team. Participants will train and rehearse with a professional Theatre Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, and full Technical team to create a full-scale musical on our main stage.
You do not need to prepare anything in advance.
Sign-in Times – Sunday, 19 April at Stranmillis College
• Ages 9–15: 09:30
• Ages 16–22: 11:30
• Recalls: 14:00–18:00
Please arrive on time at the main entrance to hand in your audition form and photo before signing in.
For security, the front doors will be locked 25 minutes after each sign-in time. Anyone arriving after this point will not be able to audition.
Once sign-in has finished, the Creative and Production Team will introduce themselves and explain the structure of the day.
What Happens During the Audition
• You will work in groups to learn a short section of a song from The Addams Family (performed on stage).
• You will also learn a short dance sequence (performed on stage).
• Both the song and dance sequences will be performed in small groups to the creative team and other auditionees.
We do not look solely for the “best” dancers, singers, or actors. We value potential, willingness to learn, and positive attitude throughout the process.
Ensemble Opportunities
If you are new to musicals or not aiming for a speaking role, the Ensemble is an excellent option. You will be fully involved in the production, spend lots of time on stage, and contribute to group performance work without needing to learn lines.
Finishing Times
We aim to see all auditionees by 13:30.
If you are invited to a callback, you may be required until 18:00. Please bring:
• Sufficient food and drink.
• A book or quiet activity (there may be waiting periods)
Please avoid bringing valuables, as we cannot take responsibility for personal items.
We recommend bringing a mobile phone so you can contact your parent or guardian at the end of the day.
Clothing
Please wear:
• Comfortable, loose clothing
• Sensible footwear suitable for movement
Please do not wear jewellery.
Bare feet, crocs, or socks are not permitted for auditions.
Only auditionees will be allowed in the auditorium. Parents and guardians may wait in the foyer.
Participation Fee
• £295 per participant
This covers the full two-week West End Summer Project.
Sibling Rate
• £280 for each additional sibling of a full-fee participant.
What the Fee Includes
• All rehearsals
• Training across the full two weeks
• Work with the professional creative and technical team
What the Fee Does Not Include
• Meals
• Transport
• Show tickets
If you live too far to commute to our West End Summer Experience, we will do our best to help you find suitable accommodation during the project.
If you are successful at audition, we will contact you separately to discuss available options. These may include:
• Staying with a nominated host family
• Booking a local hotel or student-style accommodation alongside other West End Summer Experience participants.
If you are accepted and take part in the full two-week project, some costumes and props will be provided.
However, you may be asked to source certain small items yourself. These will usually be simple pieces that can be found at home, in your wardrobe, or purchased inexpensively from places such as Amazon, charity shops, or supermarkets.
We aim to keep any additional costs minimal and will provide clear guidance on what is needed well in advance.
Lunch will be available only if we reach a minimum of 50 participants (residential and non-residential combined).
This ensures the catering team can operate efficiently and maintain a high standard of service.
If the minimum number is not reached, parents will be informed in advance and alternative arrangements may be required.
Lunch Details
• Lunch is offered on all full days of the project.
• Pricing: £15 per day (weekdays) and £20 per day (weekends).
• Lunch is available from 3–8 August and 10–12 August.
